CLUB NEWS Jamboree The 17th NZ Scout Jamboree at Manfeild Park in Feilding finished on 8 January 2005. The NZ Badgers Club was incorporated into the Jambore Programme and had about 2300 people complete our badge identification activity. A total of 345 people joined the Badgers Club during the Jamboree, taking up the 'Special Deal' available. Many thousands of badges were traded in the Club's tent at Jamboree. These incoming NZ badges will be able available to Club members in the sales page of the February magazine. Club Sponsors Samoan Jamboree Contingent On 3 January the NZ Badgers Club presented the Samoan Contingent with a cheque to assist them with their costs of attending the recent NZ Jamboree at Feilding. In recent years the Club has provided other forms of assistance and sponsorship to the Samoans and other Scout Associations in the Pacific by funding the manufacture of badges. Special Membership Deal People who joined the NZ Badgers Club at Jamboree were given a special joining package which included the 'Red Book' badge album, NZ Badge Catalogue, and a range of patches. This offer is open until the end of February 2005 for anyone who wants to join the Club. Cost is $15 for NZ youth and $20 for NZ adults. The Membership Application Form can be printed from this website. Local Club Meetings See the Meetings page on this site for more information about where you can attend a local meeting of the Badgers Club and help your collection grow. Sales of Club badges should also take place at these meetings. Experienced Club members will be able to offer you advice. New Badge Catalogues The 9th Edition of the NZ Varieties Catalogue is being prepared now and will be published in February. An order form will be included with the February magazine. The 1st Edition of Volume One of the Local Issues Catalogue (Area Issues) will also be be available next month. Cost for either catalogue will not exceed $5.
