NZ Badgers Club supports Samoan Scouts to attend NZ Jamboree.
The NZ Badgers Club has financially supported the Samoan Contingent attending the NZ Jamboree. At the previous jamboree three years ago, the Club also made a financial contribution to the Samoan Scouts. At C-Jam the Club provided funds for the production of badges which were sold at the Jamboree Trading Post, and also made available for the Samoan Scouts to swap during the jamboree.

Local Club Meetings
See the Meetings page on this site for more information about where you can attend a local meeting of the Badgers Club and help your collection grow. Sales of Club badges should also take place at these meetings. Experienced Club members will be able to offer you advice.

The 10th Edition of the NZ Varieties Catalogue will be published in February 2008. They will be able to be purchased through the magazine sales page or via this website.

Collectors Award
The Club recently instituted the Collector's Award for Club Members. This award has two levels: firstly targeting junior/new members, and secondly an added level aimed mainly at experienced members. The badge for Level One has a silver binding, while Level Two has a gold binding. Any member of the NZ Club is able to gain both levels of this award.
The criteria for Level One of the Collector’s Award are:

1. Mount your badge collection in a systematic and tidy way.
2. Explain how the Varieties Catalogue system works to either your Scout Leader or an experienced/adult member of the Badgers Club. 3. Briefly explain the meaning of your district’s badge design.
4. Since January 2005, place an advert in the Club magazine or website, which results in a trade; or respond to another Club member’s advert. List details of your swop.
5. Since Jamboree, either attend a Club Meeting near your home or correspond with three other people about badges.
The criteria for Level Two of the Collector’s Award are:
  • Have been awarded Level One.
  • Contribute an article to the ‘Swop box’ magazine.
  • Find out about the history of Scouting in your district.
  • Carry out at least one swop with a junior member of the club.
